This almost always happens when the twist-lock is over-tightened or the pod was pushed into the ground while collapsed. To free it: grip the stuck section close to the joint, twist a quarter turn counter-clockwise with steady (not sudden) force, and pull gently while twisting. A rubber jar-opener adds grip without scratching. To prevent it: extend fully before staking, and lock each section with a light quarter turn — it doesn't need to be torqued down. Still stuck? It's a camera shutter button. Pair it once (Settings → Bluetooth on your phone), open your camera or swing app, and the remote starts/stops video or snaps photos — so you can trigger recording from address instead of running back and forth.

1) Hold the power button 3 seconds until the light blinks. 2) On your phone: Settings → Bluetooth → pair the remote. 3) If it doesn't respond, pull the battery tab or replace the CR2032 battery. 4) Already paired to another phone? "Forget" the device and re-pair. Still dead on arrival? Contact us for a replacement.

Magnetic hold depends on what's between the magnet and the phone. Bare iPhone 12+ or MagSafe case: it should snap on firmly and centered — check for dirt on the mount. Non-MagSafe case or Android: use an included 3M metal plate on the outside of the case. Very thick or rugged cases still slipping: put the plate directly on the case surface closest to the mount.

Hold the base of the unit firmly with one hand and unscrew the GPUCK counter-clockwise with the other. If the puck just spins, grip it flat across its edges (not the rotating head) — a rubber pad helps. The spike then screws into the exposed 1/4 in thread.
